Position overview: 
 
As a Trade Compliance Assistant at Optimas you will play a crucial role in driving the success and growth of our organization. This dynamic position requires the ability to pull key data related to trade compliance, analyze and provide data, perform investigative work, and communicate with both internal and external parties.  In this position, you will collaborate with various teams, including Sourcing, Sales, Transportation, Customer Service, and Legal to ensure effective data delivery and alignment with our strategic objectives. You will be part of the Legal Team and report directly to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities: 
  
The Trade Compliance Assistant will be responsible for the following:  
  
  • Act as primary point of contact (POC) with external contractors to provide import-related data such as HS codes, weights and measures, etc. per requests
  • Contact suppliers to retrieve import related information and update databases
  • Interact with internal customers to perform analysis and data consolidation
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to eliminate roadblocks and ensure all program deliverables are being met on time
  • Maintain and report meeting minutes.
  • Other relevant tasks and duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications: 
  
You will thrive working with us if you have the following 
  
  • B.A. / B.S. Degree in Business Administration or other relevant degree.
  • 2 years direct experience as a Supply Chain Buyer and/or Supply Chain Analyst
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required to perform comparative data analysis, work on large data sets
  • Fastener experience is a plus
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
